Think Of The Homeless

There are over 30 million Americans who live on the streets of our nation. Can you consider giving something to a shelter near you? Your fellow human beings need socks because they walk everywhere. Food and shelter are great too, if they will take them. So please give.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Losing The War On Terror

Losing The War On Terror

by Lindsay Nolan

Terror: Intense, overpowering fear. An emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. A state or condition marked by this feeling: living in fear. A feeling of disquiet or apprehension: a fear of looking foolish. Extreme reverence or awe, as toward a supreme power. A reason for dread or apprehension.

As the Iraq war turns into another Vietnam, and Iran remains a nation of anti-Christian, anti-Israeli people, I wonder why the Government still insists that the middle east will turn into a democratic stronghold. Democracy in the middle east will never take place, even the election in Iran was an exercise in futility. No matter who is elected, the Clerics still run the country. Why can’t people see that God’s prophecies, will and are taking place. Luke 21:20 tells us, “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.” Doesn’t Luke 21:20 reveal the truth of the world as we see it today? There are many in the Middle East that are preaching peace between themselves and Israel, but this is because they are afraid of Israel. When the time is right they will strike.

Africa is starving to death, The Dead Sea is drying up, Israel is under attack, earthquakes are increasing in number. Marriage is being destroyed and the values of many that were strong just 20 years ago, are slowly slipping away in the name of compromise and unity. Man has polluted and almost used up all natural resources. Families are afraid to walk down the streets at night, Mothers and Dads are afraid to send their children to school. This, my friends, is all terror. Terror is right down town, all around.

The war on terror cannot be won. Many are deceived that this world will last forever, that things can be changed if we have one world, religion, government and bank. Its time to wake up and smell the smoke. Religion is “NOT” Salvation ! I must say that again, Religion is “NOT” Salvation. Wars and rumors of wars are an item in the news each and every day. 20 years ago we seldom heard of terrorist or wars in multiple countries. We never heard of combining religions into one unit. God was God and Jesus reigned supreme in our lives. Today we are seeing wars over, oil, land, religion and power. In just the last few weeks, I have read of murder-suicides in my home town, stalkers and terror on every hand. Saying that a war on terror is “win-able” is misleading. Terrorist have been on this earth from the beginning and will be until the end of time. Don’t misunderstand, protecting people from murder is essential but the war on terror is a lost war before it started. We lock our doors because of fear and terror.

Let’s read an article that was mailed to me from Jerusalem; Foreign Minister Shalom commented on the Iranian elections, maintaining that the election of Ahmadinejad proves that Iran is not interested in reform, conciliation and progress; rather, it is interested in conservatism and extremism. The foreign minister said that it is more probable now than ever before that the Iranian government will arm the terrorist organizations with nuclear weapons and will thereby distribute the nuclear threat all over the world. The connection between terrorism and nuclear weapons is a global existential threat. The international community must form a unified and decisive policy towards Iran, which will assure that the enlightened western nations will not become hostages of an extremist Iran.

Now let’s read a little scripture. 1Peter 3:12- 14: For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 1Peter 3:12- 14 is mistaken by some who believe that God, in these verses ,is promising Christians a peaceful life. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. The key phrase is this; “But and if ye suffer for righteousness’” Many Christians will be immune from violence and terror and then again many will be victims of it.

We hear of the wars but very seldom does the news tell of the murders and terrors of Christians, that are taking place each and every day. We don’t hear of the Christian women being raped, Christian children being kidnapped and brain washed, nor about Christian preachers being beaten savagely, because of their belief in Jesus Christ. This is a war on terror that is being ignored by man. This is a war on terror that is destroying this earth. This is a war on terror that is being lost. Zep 1:14-18 tells it the way it is; “The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.”

The Day of Wrath is coming upon this earth and nothing is going to stop it. I wonder sometimes, what it will take for people to understand the God loves them, just the way they are. He is willing to protect them from that awful day but will not wait long. The days of the gentiles is just about over, 911 was another sign. Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and the terrorist that come with them are all signs that this earth is ready for a change. Gods word will cover the Globe, but Christianity will not win the world to Christ. That’s not Biblical. Luke 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Apostasy and Power

part 3

Gifts of the Spirit

For those who ascribe to the real Christianity, anything that resembles a supernatural ability is only attributable to gifts of the Holy Spirit, i.e., the person has become a channel of God’s life and image. These abilities do not result from some latent ability that has been re-emergant within mankind. The sources of psychic abilities and true miracles lie outside the realm of man. I hate to use the word “channel” for it is used by others I am in disagreement with, but essentially, man is indeed a channel for both of these events. Scripture indicates no such thing as secret powers within mankind and speaks of the true event in terms of a manifestation of the spirit.

When we see psychics and other shamans performing what seems to be something “hyper reality”, we are indeed NOT seeing any gift of the Holy Spirit, which comes as a result of repentance, redemption, faith, and obedience. These are manifestations of spirits from that secondary world which is between the transcendent place of the almighty and the physical world of mankind. Anything running around of its own accord, manifesting in mankind, without due purpose of bringing glory to God himself, has other, counter purposes in mind. They will, as they are want to do, give a person anything they want, within certain limits, as long as it interferes with that person’s realization of the reality of God, man and the universe that surrounds them, and also the true relationship between them set forth in the Word of God. This is their prime directive.

Samson displayed supernatural abilities that were clearly not his own, and can only be explained as the strength of God working through him. The demoniac in Mark 5:2-13 was so strong he could not be bound, but shattered chains like thread. This was clearly a display of demonic power.

It is evident that mankind does not have supernatural powers of our own, when manifested, they are the result of God or the secondary spiritual world which is set against God. One never hears of any Angel, anywhere, even in human fiction writing that has possessed a human for God’s purposes. Possession is aggregate to the spirit realm that would see you never find the truth of man’s relationship to God, for they hate God, and they also hate YOU.

There is NO neutral ground that mankind can claim as his own, such an idea is the delusion of the proud. The detail of the reality of psychic phenomenon is NOT some impersonal, universal force with a dark and a light side. There may be a little shop down the road with a sign that reads, “white witch” come get your good luck, but such a thing is all part of the deception to keep you from the truth. Flatly stated, the reality of the universe is that there are two spiritual beings that oppose one another, God and Satan, and mankind is perennially trapped in the conflagration.

God has all power, but he will not violate free will. He does not want robots, and there is nothing in his Holy place that does not agree totally with his Lordship and has not chosen, free and clear to be right where they are. If you wish to be with God, and to love God, as nothing short of this will do for God, then you must choose God. Not to choose is to choose. Satan’s weapon is the lie that we can make it apart from God, and find godhood within ourselves in the form of unlimited potential. The down side is that Satan wants you cursed, blackened and splitting. He wants you trapped in a fire hole up to your neck, frying like bacon but never being vanquished. He wants you trapped halfway inside of a road to nowhere for eternity looking out into nothingness, with no end in sight, as some have intimated that this is the fate of Judas Escariot. He hates God, and God loves you, what better way for him to hurt God than to make a victim of you.

Which Witch is Which?

Atheists now even speak of things spiritual. Spiritual powers are now a metaphysical metaphor and certainly don’t relate to the Bible. The Association for Humanistic Psychology even refers to conferences including subjects such as psychological and spiritual responses to planetary peril. They now champion the return of spirit to therapy, and acquiesce that the spirit can be a great service to the mystical quest.

This is an atheistic mysticism which denies it is a religion, claims scientific parlance and is stringently opposed to Christianity. Despite this, the Christian church has wholeheartedly embraced psychology and has no idea what “spiritual concerns” really mean to these people. Modern psychotherapy, is indeed a fake religion, its own insistence to the contrary not withstanding, and actually has the vision to destroy true religion.

Don’t agree? Don’t think what I say is true? In telling of how the pseudo science of psychology has turned to mysticism, Walter Bromberg writes in his book, From Shaman to Psychotherapist:

“Whereas in previous generations “altered consciousness” was considered a mark of bohemian depravity if sought voluntarily or one of madness if sought involuntarily, nowadays a “high” is the essence of psycho logic sophistication.”*

*pp.336

Doctor Witchdoctor, gimme the news.....

Modern medicine has also taken this blind leap of faith into mysticism. One need only look as far as the claim to be able to heal mind, body and spirit. Holistic medicine has grown leaps and bounds in its enterprise to gain acceptability. The new concern for spirit has come about as the West has increasingly accepted Eastern mysticism ideas and methods.

If you are a Christian who accepts any willy nilly use of the terms, “God”, “Christ” and “Spirit” you are trading in doppelganger terminology. Don’t be mislead by these terms used by those who are not of the faith, especially if it appears to put science on your side. “Spirit” is a religious term, not science or medical. Next time you talk to your doctor or psychologist, ask them what religion involving “spirit” they are passing off to their patients in the name of medical science. This isn’t a game folks.

Psychologist Jack Gibb put it this way:

“The absolute assumption that a lot of us are making in the Holistic Health Movement is that all of the things necessary to create my life are in me... I believe that I am God, and I believe that you are...”*

*Ibid p. 153

Some Christians are doctors, for sure, and they use the term “Holistic” because it has become the vernacular, yet they lack a true understanding of how the vast majority of those involved are practicing some form of sorcery. Experts in the field actually admit that the religion behind Holistic medicine is ancient shamanism revived. Anthropologist Michael Harner states: “The burgeoning field of Holistic Medicine shows a tremendous amount of experimentation with techniques long practiced in Shamanism. In the West, shamanism is being reinvented.”

Mircea Elaide, thoroughly documents in his classic work Shamanism, that witchcraft’s basic premises and practices are identical everywhere and always have been. He states:

“Shaman (pronounced SHAH-maan) is a word from the language of the Tungus people of Siberia and has been adopted widely by anthropologists to refer to persons in a great variety of non-western cultures who were previously known by such terms as “witch,” “witch doctor,” “medicine man,” “sorcerer,” “wizard,” “magician”....

Shamanism represents the most widespread and ancient methodological system of mind-body healing known to humanity.... These shamanic methods are strikingly similar the world over even for peoples whose cultures are quite different in other respects and who have been separated by oceans and continents for thousands of years”*

*p. 20 (Shamanism by Mircea Elaide)

How could that be? How could cultures be so different and so separate yet have the striking similarities of Shamanism? Unless of course, there is some larger, single source driving them all. It’s not a surprise that shamanism is taking the same forms in Western society today, .... truly, is there really ANYTHING new under the sun? The Christian church is no innocent babe in all this, accepting shamanistic terms under the guise of psychology. There is a school of thought that believes that the “great falling away” of the Christian church which is predicted in end time prophecy, will happen when the AntiChrist reveals that the body of Jesus has been found. But this is a limited “man’s view point” of God’s perspective. It’s unfortunate that the church at large would be shocked and amazed that the “great falling away” could have been going on for almost 300 years now, a blink of an eye in the view point of God Almighty. And we all have to ask ourselves: If the deception would be so great as to fool even the elect, what would the “Great Falling Away” really look like?

Apostasy and Power

part 2

The Fourth Dimension

I realize that it sounds a bit like micro management, but the facts are the facts. Claiming such a thing as the Fourth Dimension brings with it the erroneous designs that lead to ideas such as The Spirit of God, angels, demons, and man’s spirit all inhabiting the same dimension. The transcendence and unequaled superiority of God is once again questioned. Satan wanted to believe this also, that he could be equal with God, and his treaties toward Eve contained this same machination; namely, that God had something to worry about when they became equal with him. 1 Timothy 6:16 relates: “...who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see”.

Man’s spirit has the place and function for operating within his own body, it operates within the physical universe and is subject to the natural laws that dictate prescription. God is not pleased when we attempt converse with disembodied wraiths. Such beings live in another place that is bound by its own laws, which we cannot measure with physical accoutrements nor understand based on our own material experience and much less take superintendence of by directives or wrote activities. When these revenants penetrate into the physical world in the form of psychic phenomena, the things they do seem like hyper reality but are in fact, as natural to that realm as the physical world is to us.

God is just not there. He no more inhabits the spirit world than we in the physical world do and he no more inhabits this spiritual dimension in similitude. He has a pure seminal existence like none other. Creator and creation, whether physical or spiritual are exclusive in their existence. The true supernatural, superior to either existence by physical or spiritual, only comes from God. Psychic phenomenon comes from the secondary spiritual place and from those who would attempt to hoodwink us into believing that we have indeed made contact, by our own means or methods, with the divine.

If You Can See it....

Indirectly and mistakenly, Pastor Cho has laid out the basic diagram for occult theory, nature religion, and/or witchcraft. His claims that God inhabits the physical universe allow him egress into the idea of the Almighty making reality from parts of himself. This is done by “incubating”, like a hen sitting on eggs. “Incubating” is the term substituted for “visualization”. There is no suggestion whatsoever of any type of technique used for creation by God in Holy Scripture. To make a suggestion as to any method of creation used by God is to limit him to our understanding, and since he is infinite, all encompassing, eternal and omnipresent; just to use a few superlatives, he cannot be marginalized. You may make the claim that “God said...” is a method, but since when was the whole of the universe at your beck and call to do the same, or how can limited man correctly identify this action as being on a par with our own abilities?

One can see the slippery slope of such directives. If God and man inhabit the same “fourth dimension”, then we can visualize, incubate, and create reality just as God does. But knowing mankind like you and I do, would we want to live in such a reality? A reality where any person or small group can intrude upon others reality with the power of the mind. We already go to war with tanks and guns over territory and possessions, what would we do with such an ability as this? And honestly, if it were indeed possible, wouldn’t we have seen it by now? The real reason such clap trap comes and goes like it does, is death. If generations didn’t die off, if we were all 500 years old, one would never see such ridiculous supposition. Why? Because we would have lived long enough to know the truth of reality.

Here is what Cho says in his book, The Fourth Dimension:

“We’ve got to learn how, to visualize and dream the answer as being complete as we go to the Lord in prayer. We should always try to visualize the end result as we pray. In that way, with the power of the Holy Spirit, we can incubate that which we want God to do for us....

God used this process of visualizing the situation to help Abraham... By that visualization through the associated thought... Abraham could incubate his (future) children and dispel doubts from his heart. The main thing is to know the importance of visualization.”

If this imagination power is so paramount to God’s operation with mankind, one would expect that the Bible would treat it with titular importance. But visualization is never mentioned in the Bible, nor is it taught, it is more of an term of the last 300 years of man’s existence here upon the Earth, and that is the genesis of its origins. (I refer to the “intellectual elite” revolution of the 1800’s) The action of holding a mental image in the mind in order to manipulate reality goes way back in time to the earliest occultic practices. It is, not coincidentally, one of the most basic shamanistic practices. Paradoxically, this method is being taught by Christian organizations, psychologists, success motivation and healing practices. I see ONE Bill Gates, gifted with intelligence and education, and wonder where are all the millions who could be his equal if they only had visualized similar success.

Power Man

A wise man once told me that the sin of the young man is sex, the sin of the middle aged man is power, and the sin of the old man is greed. Considering the amount of weight in society that those in their middle years hold over their counterparts on both sides, it is not surprising to find that mankind has a long history of the pursuit of power. Despots, alchemists, modern science and mystics have all sought it. The myth that the greatest power is the one that lies within is the magic bullet of the day. The idea of the “Great Unconscious”, the part of ourselves that would open up the universe for us if we could only access it, is a type of “Holy Grail” toward attaining power. Our conscious mind is now considered the “red headed step child” of our being and is actually a viral hindrance toward our own self fulfillment.

I would love to see the evidence of this untapped and unlimited power potential that is sold to mankind on a mass scale. I see the books on the bookshelf, the authors driving Bentleys, but where is the evidence from their readers? How many books and tapes does it take to release this power of the mind before the public that buys this clap trap wakes up? I suppose hope springs eternal. Next time you see your Grandpa, if he is able, or even your great grandpa if you have one, ask him if these ideas are anything new and if he has ever seen anyone who can perform mind power on call. Surely, if something actually worked like this, wouldn’t a great author of the past have written about it? Wouldn’t Charles Dickens, or someone comparable, have novelized this success story in some way? Why wouldn’t they have? Are we this egotistical that we think progress has automatically opened ALL doors once unknown to the common populace? It would seem so.

But it’s not just the bleeding crowd that has been effected. Here is a quote from a Christian book:

“Would it shock you to learn that God’s healing power is available through your own mind and you can trigger it by faith? If you had direct access to your unconscious mind, you could command any disease to be healed in a flash. That’s how much power is at hand. Jesus obviously had access to it, for he produced command healings.

But God has purposely placed this power beyond our awareness. That way fallen man can’t tamper with it. However, there is a way to get to it, indirectly... by faith. (Yes, he has discovered a loophole. Oops! And we thought God had everything covered.)

Does that sound like Mind Science? Yes it does. It’s true that the cults have discovered certain of God’s healing laws and use them to lure people into their webs.... But let me ask, should born again believers be denied healing simply because certain cults exploit these laws?

That’s like throwing the baby out with the bath water. It’s ridiculous to say: “I can’t use these laws because the Science of Mind people use them.”*

*Personal Christianity Newsletter, Aug. 1979, C.S. Lovett, “The Medicine of Your mind.”

Seems funny how Pastors like this have strict knowledge of Jesus saying to have faith in God, but here faith in the human unconscious is the focus. Seriously, Christ was either who he said he was, God come in the flesh, or he was the biggest lunatic ever to walk the Earth. Would God at present in the flesh have need of “the human unconscious”? Strange logic.

But aren’t we made in the image of God?

Genesis 1:26,27 tells us that we are indeed made in the image of God. An image is a reflection like one in a mirror. In the same place as a mirror reflects an image before it, mankind was designed to reflect a reality other than his own. How can a mirror develop a good self image? If the image is distorted, then the mirror needs to be corrected to match the image reflected by it. To pursue its own self improvement and self confidence is to deny the ultimate reality of the relationship. It is a direct attack upon mankind’s pride to think that a correct personal position in reality is totally dependant upon God. We were designed to show the goodness of God, not some “superman- boy scout” heroism of our own.

If Eve had had “Godlike” powers within herself, then the idea of “being like God” would have been erroneous clap trap to her, and a waste of everyone’s time. We now know, after centuries of pain and anguish, that this promise was a lie. Since she did indeed eat of the forbidden fruit and didn’t become like God. Instead, the promise of God is that one would die, first spiritually, and then later physically if the forbidden fruit was taken. This DID happen and continues to this day. No matter how much progress mankind makes, he is repeatedly, down through history, hamstrung by the same problems which began right here in the garden of Eden. To deny that the events contained within this book really never happened, is to ignore the “cancer that came from living next to the nuclear plant”, so to speak.

Psychic Powers?

Psychic powers are not something that is tapped into inside of man. It is a penetration from another realm. A place where those that live there would love you to believe that reality is not ALL ABOUT GOD, but you can indeed access power from inside yourself. Mankind therefore becomes a slave to the temptation of power at the expense of the true reality of his position before God.

Even worse, Christians are now practicing Holy Spirit perception, a version of ESP that has been rewired for the Christian community. (Really, what would the “great falling away” look like?) Ralph Wilkerson of Melodyland Christian Center in Southern California writes in his book, ESP or HSP? Exploring Your Latent Seventh Sense:

“Why are some more gifted with HSP - hearing the voice of God, discerning demons, speaking words of wisdom and knowledge - and others less so, only manifesting it occasionally? Certain people appear to be more naturally sensitive that others to the seventh sense.

Those with American Indian ancestry, such as Oral Roberts, often exhibit a certain openness to both the sixth (ESP) and seventh (HSP) sense. I believe this can be traced to the keenly developed perception necessary for the primitive Indian’s survival...

Women are apparently more aware of hidden realms beyond .... Perhaps this explains why so many psychics are female.”

*Ralph Wilkerson, ESP or HSP? - Exploring Your Latent Seventh Sense. 1978, pp. 258-259

If Adam, in the garden, had psychic powers before the fall, and he would have been sinless at this point, then Jesus, who was sinless also would certainly have displayed them. But he always claimed that he was only doing the work that God the Father was doing through him. When Jesus told Nathaniel that he had seen him under the fig tree, Nathaniel claimed that Jesus was indeed the Son of God. Jesus didn’t correct him and say that it was some postulate of clairvoyance made possible by psychic powers. Unlike church leaders of today, he also didn’t recommend to anyone who followed him that they develop psychic powers.

Jesus was a pretty straight up guy. John 14:2 says:

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” He has nothing to hide, and isn’t afraid of some coo by mankind getting his hands on information that would threaten his position. (Not only that, but he would not withhold anything that would benefit you.)

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Apostasy and Power

Apostasy and Power

As is all too often the case, Christians who have tasted actual miracles from God give in to the temptation to want to increase the amount of control they have and frequency with which God responds by using certain methods, principles or laws. Many involved in such attempts lose sight of the fact that they have denied true miraculous possibilities and have created a type of false idol god who must respond in a predetermined manner to their positive confessions, visualization and/or affirmations. The reality that they have stepped over into the occult without realizing it, doesn’t help anyone involved in the faith.

This person, who unwittingly has become a sorcerer, has replaced God with an impersonal “cosmic goo” force that can be manipulated in a scientific manner as one would relieve the atom of its energy. Amazingly, Christians often accept the same concepts as success motivational thinking. The book, The Power of Positive Thinking, makes no vagaries about the principles on which it is based.

“Prayer power is a manifestation of energy. Just as there exists scientific techniques for the release of atomic energy, so are there scientific procedures for the release of spiritual energy through the mechanism of prayer. Exciting demonstrations of this energizing force are evident...

It is important to realize that you are dealing with the most tremendous power in the world when you pray... New and fresh spiritual techniques are being constantly discovered.... experiment with prayer power....”

People often have no real clue
just what it means to accept Jesus and when they get down the road a bit in their walk they may go through a kind of withdrawal as they confront the erroneous assumptions that they have been programed to believe about what being a true Christian really means. Little could many of us have expected when we first heard the call that a part of us was really looking for the “genie in the bottle”, not the savior of lost souls. Such titles of “Christian books” as: God’s Creative Power Will Work for You or How To Write Your Own Ticket With God, set a tone that panders to mankind’s basic weakness. The seemingly unattractive quality of Christianity for many of the fallen and also those who are unwittingly apostate is that God is the Creator of everything and anything you can name and he calls us to submit to his will. Which, after all, makes sense since it’s HIS universe, and not ours.

Many are those who speak of submitting to God’s will, but much of the terms with which they use to describe this submission negates that same submission. A messenger of God can speak as God’s servant, fulfilling his will, but not as a prestidigitator who has gained control of cosmic forces due to his knowledge of the laws that govern them. Answered prayer is not a positive confession, but a request within God’s will and a testimony of faith that, if it is judged by God as beneficial to us, then we shall have it.

The promises of God are always conditioned upon his will and judgment in any particular situation and upon the obedience of his people. It is a natural thing for us to make the condition for answered prayed our ability to “believe”, but this in fact may hamper a true faith that relies on God as 1) existing despite a lack of visual evidence in any situation and 2) a trust in God’s love and true wisdom to work all things out according to his will. The concept of our receiving exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask of and think, may not be something we confess, which is of course limited by our own time and space and imaginations, but would be something that is even better for us in the long run as judged by He who knows all the hairs on our head.

The Magic Man

Much of the “magic” of our day relies on many of the same principles. With the clear intent of being equal to a physicist or chemist, occultists deal with spiritual laws and metaphysical forces. The material scientist denies any reality except the physical. This view could, however, change over night. As a result, real science and pseudo science will blur the lines between them. Such a thing as “Scientology” is perhaps ahead of the pack in this mixing of the physical laws and the spiritual reality. And what is this except the man in the woods with the hood and the staff now wearing an Armani suit and holding seminars for $60.00 a ticket?

Top scientists now believe that quantum mechanics can prove the connection between the mind and what can be created in reality. A well known philosopher of our time has stated that several leading theorists have come forward to say that much of their work suggests a hidden spiritual world. The swing of science toward mysticism promises to be of catastrophic effect upon the church.

This is the view of certain scientists: John Von Neumann’s rigorous formulation of quantum mechanics shows that physical reality is a fragment of the human imagination and that the only true reality is thought itself....It could be that the scientific community is a kind of spirit society that devotes itself to studying imaginary phenomena, and that the objects of physics are ghosts produced by the observers themselves.

It was only a little while ago that such ideas were the enclave of the intellectual masturbatory elite and generally believed to be mental aphasia by the general public. This idea today however, no matter the illogic or lack of seminal evidence, of the mind creating its own reality (and the accompanying practices) is the basis for the New Physics, and the New Psychology. The New Age movement, the Holistic Human Potential movement and Consciousness movements are all great purveyors of this mental control idea. Now the universe is no longer a machine, but more of a “thought”. Many physicist have become idealists who believe that the mind is the ultimate reality with matter being the epiphenomenon. Things seem objective because they exist in the mind of some eternal spirit.

Christians often use these ideas, quoted from the mouths of so called experts, as support of spiritual reality. The underlying concept being that these ramblings somehow prove that man has some kind of untapped potential in the form of mind powers by which to transform reality. To say that we regard consciousness as fundamental and matter as its derivative, is far from a Christian concept. It elevates the human mind to Godhood. New science has taken a huge leap from materialism to the strange land of the mystic and occultic which is having a big impact on society and the church.

Science and Hinduism

There is increasing acceptance among scientists of what a Stanford University Professor of Materials Science says is “new energies”. Whatever these new energies are, they are becoming regarded as not being a part of physical reality but instead they are connected to human consciousness. Science has become spiritism, a practice which renders its own methods and instruments redundant and thus becomes a victim of its own erroneous ideas.

Scientists are coming forth with the idea that at some point in the universe, we are all connected ... time, space and matter are all mutable. This is not a new idea, ask any Hindu. If such a thing is true, then in fact we are all not just merely potential “gods” but in fact WE ARE GOD. Yogis have long intimated tha
t all we need to find self realization (or God Realization) is to look within ourselves to find out who we really are. God is in you, not outside of you. Due to its role in the advancement of mankind over the last couple of centuries, science has found itself to be the sacred cow of mankind, and is influencing the church in ways though impossible by those who lived three hundred years ago and beyond.

Yoga Unbearable

Yoga, the very heart of Hinduism, is now also calling itself science. In the last 30 years it has become a big part of western civilization. It is taught everywhere, at the YMCA, the YWCA, clubs, public schools, industry, and also in many churches. With an Armani suit, Yoga has insinuated itself into medicine, psychology, education, and religion under the auspices of “centering”, “relaxation therapy”, “self-hypnosis”, and “creative visualization”. Yoga is designed to lead to the realization of one’s true godhood through an inward journey that finally locates the ultimate source of everything within the human psyche (a Freudian term). Even Nobel Prize winners in science have stated it is possible for them to gain insights into objective reality by practicing traditional Eastern meditational techniques. Though wether or not this has ever happened for them is still a non-event. Surely, with an idea as old as this one is, there has to be the resultant successful accomplishment somewhere, somehow for others to investigate. Wouldn’t you think?

Hollo Sweet

Paradoxically, despite the rise of movie ticket prices,
3-D effects have taken on a kind of new age themselves. Inferior enough not to warrant the higher prices they ask for, they none the less have begun a rise in filmmaking where most movies will soon have 3-D effects. Why? You have me on that one. The next logical step for technology in the filmmaking business will be, of course, holograms. Though you may only think of them as science fiction at this point, they do have an intriguing scientific basis. Three dimensional images which project the action right out into the audience is an ability that is not so far out into the future as one might believe. But here’s the thing about holograms, no matter how small or how many the pieces the hologram is cut into, despite reduced resolution, each piece retains the image of the entire whole. The same is true of single cells of the body. Each one has the entire DNA formula for replicating the whole, which is why it is theoretically possible to clone an entire human being from a single cell.

It’s not a far jump to then claim that each of us is a little holographic image of the entire universe. We are a “God” that contains within ourselves everything that is. It’s unfortunate but the teachings going around the church today are supporting eastern mysticism more than they perhaps realize.

What Would "The Great Falling Away" Look Like Then?

David Yonggi Cho is a Korean Christian minister.
He is Senior Pastor and founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God), the world’s largest congregation with a membership of 830,000 . Cho still conducts two services of the seven the church holds a day; they are so heavily attended that people often must arrive an hour early to have a seat. Here is a direct quote including his summary of the fourth dimension:

“Then God spoke to my heart, “Son, as the second dimension includes and controls the first dimension, and the third dimension includes and controls the second dimension, so the fourth dimension includes and controls the third dimension, producing a creation of order and beauty. The spirit is the fourth dimension. Every human being is a spiritual being as well as a physical being. They have the fourth dimension as well as the third dimension in their hearts.” So men, by exploring their spiritual sphere of the fourth dimension through the development of concentrated visions and dreams in their imaginations, can brood over and incubate the third dimension, influencing and changing it. This is what the Holy Spirit taught me”

*Cho, The Fourth Dimension 1979:p40

This is a blatant contradiction of logic and science as well as scripture to say that the spirit is a fourth dimension that includes and controls the three dimensional universe. This not only denies God’s transcendence by placing him in a dimensional cause and effect relationship with the physical universe, but it is the Hindu concept of God who is everything and made everything out of himself. To give the source of this information as the Holy Spirit is troublesome enough on its own, even without the fourth dimension information, and should be tested and proved as all revelations should be while holding fast to that which is good. Seriously, did God leave something out of his revelation of himself to us? Ooops! (I joke of course.)

More on this fourth dimension information next time in part 2.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Dating Outside Your Religion

Dating Outside Your Religion

by Rick Pelle

Dating someone of another faith can be a difficult situation even when the couple is deeply united. We can learn from biblical times and bible stories just how difficult differences in religion can be for even the most united of couples.

King Solomon was known as the wisest of the wise and ruled with incredible foresight and intelligence. The Bible says he had 700 wives and 300 concubines, some of whom were the daughters of pagan kings, who forged an alliance with Solomon. These alliances were often sealed with the presentation of a daughter's hand in marriage. One of these pagan wives who Solomon favored dearly convinced Solomon to make offerings to her pagan gods. The result of those offerings left Solomon struck down by the God of the Israelites with insanity and he died in disgrace.

Abraham and his Wife Sarah wish only to have a son to continue their lineage but Sarah is barren and thought to be too old to conceive. She gives her husband her Egyptian servant Hagar who has a child by Abraham. Later when God gives Sarah a child of her own Hagar and her Son Ishmael are sent into the desert to die. Instead they become the ancestors of the Arab Nations and we all know how that family feud has played out over the centuries.

Moses was placed in a basket by his mother and floated down the river to save his life. He was raised by the daughter of the Pharaoh and treated like a member of the royal family. Moses finds out that he is actually a Hebrew and in a rage kills an Egyptian who is beating a Hebrew slave. He is forced to flee into the land of the Midianites. He rescues the daughters of a Midianite priest who takes him in and gives him his daughter Zipporah as a wife. God tries to kill Moses but he is saved by Zipporah in a bizarre ritual which involves the circumcision of their son and the tossing of the foreskin at the feet of Moses. Moses and the Hebrews eventually reject and abandon Zipporah because she is an Ethiopian and she and her sons are sent away to live their lives with her father in the desert.

The concept of marrying within your religion is emphasized in the story of Rebekah. Abraham was living in Canaan and was so concerned about his son Isaac not having a proper Hebrew wife. He sent his servant to the City of Nahor to find Isaac a wife. The servant returned with Rebekah who was a godly woman and who became Isaac's wife. The couple was barren for more than 20 years but eventually had twin boys Jacob and Esau.

Sampson was encouraged by his family to marry Miriam a Hebrew maiden who loved him very much but he was smitten by the beauty of a Philistine women named Semadar. Semadar had a sister named Delilah who was so taken by Sampson's strength that she wanted him for herself. The ensuing family squabbles left both the Philistines and the Hebrews with burned villages and destroyed crops as the girls fought over him eventually causing the death of Semadar and the downfall of the once invincible Sampson by the hand of Delilah.

The Bible gives us many examples of the pitfalls of dating outside of ones faith and though many of the stories may be parables designed to teach to the leanings of the church they are no less prophetic. Sir Edmund Burke (1729-1797) said: "Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it." If religion is important to you and you choose to ignore the teachings of the Bible, to date within your faith, you could be tempting fate.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Europe's spiritual death, great falling away, religious liberalism, Julius WellHausen

The Wellhausen Agenda

part 3

It wasn’t long before the inception of Religious Liberalism that it jumped the pond and soon began being preached in old-line denomination
al churches, colleges and seminaries of the east coast United States. European intellectuals made the case that a new understanding of the Bible was indeed progress and would bring about a marvelous new humanism that would deliver America from the shackles of “dark ages” thinking that had held them back.

Scholar J. Grescham Machen reviewed those days and t
he coming liberalism to the Methodists, Anglicans, and the Presbyterians. He reminded us of what religious liberalism really is. Valiantly holding to the Word of God, he announced to those churches the degree of chicanery that was inherent in religious liberalism. It went about promoting itself as Christianity but was in fact a wolf in sheep’s clothing. In much the same way George Orwell outlined the re-definition of terms in his classic novel, 1984, this liberalism used the same terms, i.e. “Christ”, “God”, “Bible” and “inspiration” to mean something other than what had been the traditional meaning for the use of those expressions.

One must hold fast to the hope and prayer that the ordinary man of our time will not be forced to adhere to a religion which is in fact “Neo-Christianity”. We must all stand tall and fight against the bastardization of the true Christian faith, for woe be to us to believe one thing and live quite another.

Machen wrote his book, Christianity and Liberalism in 1924, but f
or many of the day the warning was too late. The arguments of religious liberalism had already insinuated themselves within the educational structure of society. Not surprisingly, in the wake of the so called intellectual revolution of the times, many of the famous thinkers and philosophers of the day had their own ideas included in religious liberalism. This so called progress went as follows:

1) Darwin’s teachings on evolution are indeed fact, despite a weak presence of evidence, and because of this, we know that we are here due to evolution.

2) Because we know that we have evolved, then the brain must also have evolved, along with the mind of man, and therefore we have moved from the simple of the past to the complex of the present and then on to the future.

3) Therefore, since the mind of man has evolved, then it follows that his ideas, concepts and understanding has also evolved and matured
. (This of course is evidenced by the fact that we have done away with war, hatred, conflict, prejudice, insanity, injustice, yadda yadda....)

4) If the ideas of man have evolved, then also our understanding of God must evolve. God used to be a tough taskmaster, but now he is a God of love.

5) Now that God is all about love, the idea of sin is anachronistic. Sin is not a violation of God’s law, God cannot be offended. Therefore, sin itself is sort of like Santa Clause, something made up when we had an immature understanding.

6) Therefore it is education that is the real salvation, not forgiveness and redemption, but re-education of a higher form. The spark of divinity is already in man and just needs to be fanned into new flame.

7) As we pursue new enlightenment, the old ways of war, hatred, famine and the like will become as anachronistic as our old ways of thinking about God.

“Every day and in every way, I am getting better and
better,” was the Freudian chant of the day, and I am talking about inside of churches. The Power of Positive Thinking had yet to be written but the audience for its readership was already in the making. Encouragement, optimism and perspective tricks were the new clarion call of the day.

What had existed for so long as the mainstay of Christianity was now redefined as “butcher shop” religion, and the masses bought this lock, stock and barrel. It was now all about expanding a persons thinking about hi
mself and his human possibilities. Check your local book store, the self-help section is quite large and has been large for over 70 years now. This stuff sells books. (If nothing else)

Not only Darwin and Freud were involved here, but Karl Marx as well. Marx’s “social Darwinism” promised the improvement of humanity if people would sacrifice
themselves unselfishly for the good of the commune. Religious liberalism was a strange bedfellow of the political left and the conservatives of the day saw this as nothing but a Communist front organization influence upon the American public.

Fortunately, liberalism had not won the battle in the United States at this time. Frontier Christianity upheld its strong
doctrine and allegiance to the infallibility of scripture. Toward the end of the 1800’s, the preaching of persons like Dwight L. Moody had a profound effect upon the masses of America. Colonial America was not so easily shaken by the ideas of Europe and held fast to the essential true nature of scripture and the inspiration of the Bible. This is not surprising, as there are no atheists in fox holes, and pioneers of the day had to make their way in a wilderness, they weren’t comfortable on the couch like the Europeans were and keeping their faith true and correct was something akin to daily bread, sometimes the only daily bread.

The result, as we all know, was the brith of the fundamentalist movement. Young preachers from all around the country began pressing forward against the poison of the encroaching liberalism. They saw the dangers of accepting the ideas of evolution, Marxism and Bible denying liberalism. New churches spread like wildfire and new denominations sprang up all around the countr
y as an ebb tide of resistance formed.

These believing preachers postulated on five points in the battle against liberalism:

1) They preached “verbal plenary inspiration” as the way that God made the Bible. A person could trust every word, for scripture could not be broken due to God’s protection and the life or death seriousness with which those who delivered the message and those who copied it took the “Words of God.”

2) They preached the deity of Christ. Due to the romanizati
on of Christ in many art works, and a few other references, the liberals were stating that Jesus was born of a Jewish girl and a roman soldier. This made fundamentalist preachers livid as they took this as flat out blasphemy. We all know what someone who is Jewish looks like, for the most part, and scripture itself says that he looked like any ordinary man. The blue eyes are possible, but I say, improbable. Regardless, the main point is of course, Jesus birth by divine means.

3) They preached the finished work of the cross. The shed blood of Christ at the cross was central to everything. To minimize the role of Christ
’s sacrifice was similar to slapping someone’s mother. When this argument is put forward, it covers all roads leading back to the main point of the very existence of God. But in the interim to getting there, you also deny his great love for you and me and his insistence on seeing us brought back to a proper place with him in the whole of our reality. This is not a gift to be taken lightly.

4) They preached salvation by grace alone. Salvation by works was contained within the liberalist message and once again, was a slap at the personhood of God and also his sacrifice. If you could bring about that restored relationship yourself, then not only was Christ’s sacrifice simply a nice gesture, but you and I share a plane with the creator himself. That’s an inescapable point of logic when considering this. If you can restore the broken relationship with God that happened i
n the Garden of Eden, then Adam could have just killed himself, since the price of sin (stepping out of the will of God) is blood, death. Does this remind you of some folks who believe they can kill themselves and other innocent victims and arrive in the presence of God? hmm.

5) The premillennia return of Christ. The doctrine of the special mission of the church as the Body of Christ and its deliverance from the world before the days of the Great Tribulation that was to come upon the earth was a fundamentalist linchpin. They looked forward to the sweet chariot that would swing so low, and the liberalism churches would never even come near this preachi
ng.

Interestingly enough, the results of all this fire and brimstone was that liberalism became firmly rooted in America. Liberalism’s impact was largely felt in the east and waned as one traveled farther west, naturally, to the lesser developed and smaller townships, away from the big cities. Comfort and satisfaction often result in liberal ideas taking a hold they would not have otherwise.

Fundamentalism eventually has given way to something called evangelicalism. Evangelicals unite around the firm conservative platform, it is less likely though to go to war over its convictions. It’s a “softer” version of the fundamentalism which is willing to come to some sort of midway compromise with libe
rals for the betterment of everyone’s living conditions within society. They are more than likely to see their movements as a “social action” but are also still a major counter force to liberalism.

Liberalism’s conquest of Europe and its continuing battle in America is certainly one of the major stories of mankind. Part of that story still remains to be seen. One thing is inescapable though, Europe, since 1900, has given the world the bloodiest century in the history of mankind. No tribal or hill cou
ntry rivalry, no civil war anywhere on the planet has so covered the Earth with blood like World Wars I & II which have directly and indirectly caused 50 million deaths there about. Nor has the world itself been so in jeopardy from powerful men who mean to do harm on a major scale in order to initiate their own agendas. Don’t wonder where God has been during all of this, for when you ask him to leave your churches, schools and legal departments, he leaves a nation or nations at the whim of his enemy, and the results are a painful reminder to us all.

Despite Europe’s vaunted so called intellectualism, it has been unable to defend itself against the rise of movements like Nazism, Communism, fascism, the occult and other ideas that have literally corrupted its soul. America today is seen as “prudish”, but Europe would never call itself “depraved” despite the evidence. The external results of a spiritual death are hard to ignore and Europe has written a book on this in big bold letters.

Wellhausen and his liberal cronies killed the spiritual life in Europe. Will America learn this lesson? Will it stop to see the deathly results of giving Satan a voice in society? Do you think he is our friend? Do you think he has ANYTHING to say to you and me? Just ask Europe.

When we stop to consider the centuries old family fued between the Jewish nation of Israel and its disgruntled brothers the United Arab Emigrates, can you see how Europe and America can become just as distanced due to the spiritual death of Europe and the continued (although quickly eroding) divine protections of America? Does an attack have to come from tanks and missiles? Or can a nation long held close as an ally have already have been wearing away its partner in freedom simply by the illicit influences it proposes? Does Europe realize that if it hadn’t been for America, they would all be strongly influenced by Nazism today? Fascism would have taken over major parts of the whole world, as is another major movement planning to do in the near future which both Europe and America have become more and more chummy with.

The people of Ancient Israel, time and again preferred to listen to the rantings of the used car salesman from hell at the expense of their love relationship with God, based mostly on the appeal to human ego. It’s an old story, from Genesis to Judas, who are you going to listen to? Whom will you believe? The idea of “Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord”, is not some fairy tale, or nice platitude. It’s a political fact. When Israel couldn’t get it together, they were thrust from the land God had promised them, scattered all over the world for centuries. You and I could have Jewish blood in our families and not even know it. This is no “Atlantis” hypothesis. The Israelites are an historical fact that remains with us today and their story is a black and white representation of what happens to nations who ask God to leave. Whether it be Europe with its intellectualism or America with its Supreme Court rulings.

Liberalism is a parasite that sucks the life from true Christianity. It calls itself Christianity, but it denies the inspiration of the Bible, the deity of Christ, the virgin birth, the true nature of faith, and yet they want real Christians to still consider them part of the overall pie. No such luck! What is so insidious is that they do not have their own churches. They are a church of the mind, of the perspective and only reveal themselves when they put forth their ideas in the social realm. Learn to spot them. Root them out. They could be in the pew next to you. Not the “bodysnatchers” but the “spirit snatchers”.

Clarity is divine, and the game here is confusion. If you are confused as to the black and white truth of these things, then you have been effected. Don’t like my saying that? It wouldn’t bother you if you were right with God.

1Timothy 4:1 says: “.... in latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” Defection from the faith is an historic part of mankind, from Eden to Jerusalem, to Europe in the 1800’s. Paul mourned over those who had been led astray from the faith, and in a rather speedy manner. He told them to accept no other Gospel but that which he had given them when they first believed (Galatians: 1:6-8) and to let those who had preached that false Gospel to be accursed. Let world history be your guide. Review the history of Europe in the 1900’s versus the 1700’s. Or for that matter, review the history of the world. The cause and effect of forgetting God is the same for us today as it was for ancient Israel, and they are a chosen people.

Certainly rationalism cannot be superior to revelation, for plainly the wages of rationalism and relying on our own reason can be seen in the escalation of our own dissolution time and time again.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: The Wellhausen Agenda Part 2

The Wellhausen Agenda

part 2

Wellhausen was born in 1844 in Hamlen, Westphalia, Germany. He studied at the University of Gottingen and was so brilliant in his understanding of all things theological that he was awarded a professorship at Greifswald University. Theological studies continued there for the next ten years and in the meantime he departed step by step and inch by inch from the view of Bible scripture as being of divine inspiration. He was fired as a result of this. Other colleges entertained him in the interim and he eventually ended up teaching at the college he had first graduated from.

His career developed as he wrote many books on biblical criticism. Wellhausen eventually became famous as the leader of a strain of thought called “Higher Criticism”. A noted author gave us an insight into just what this thing called Higher Criticism was: “Scholars who will not admit divine revelation seek to explain Old Testament belief in God in terms of evolution. They would have Old Testament monotheism be the resultant from lower stages, or from polytheism, or regard it as a particular instinct of the Semites, or as borrowed from neighboring nations.”

It is easy to see how the ideas of Darwin and evolution were a big influence on the thinking toward biblical assumptions. These ideas spread like a wildfire throughout society as they had with them the guilding pet for the ego of man that pleases everyone at one time or another. Once a social movement begins, no matter its truth or shaky grounds, it is hard for a social animal like mankind to hold firm to an idea that leaves him on the outside.

Author Paul Heinisch had this to say: “The Wellhausen school maintains that pre-Mosaic religion in Israel had been polydemonism in the form of totenism, animism, ancestor worship, fetishism. Recent investigations in the countries of the ancient Orient, however, have demonstrated that the religions of the Near East as far as can now be ascertained, did not sink to such levels; they were polytheistic in character (star worship, personification of natural forces), and tapered off in a monarchical system. Rather than evolution, there was retrogression, because the number of gods gradually increased. Furthermore, prehistory testifies that primitive man was in no way intellectually inferior to his descendants, and that at least the realm of art was quite superior. Ethnology also refutes the theory of religious evolution, for the concepts of the so called primitive peoples are purer than those of their neighbors already engaged in agriculture and cattle raising. Therefore, we need but give scant attention to those passages which have been cited as having traces of the above-mentioned “isms”*

*Paul Heinisch, Theology of the Old Testament (St. Paul, Minn.: Liturgical, 1955). p. 34

As you can see, keeping in line with most of those who have agendas, Wellhausen had to invent an account of prehistory that was later refuted by scholarship that actually checked up on what he had to say. Once again, as in the case of Sigmund Freud, evidence meant little, the priory of stipulating that the Bible was just a collection of superior works akin to Shakespeare could not be bothered with the facts.

Another passage to support this refutation can be taken from Hienrisch’s book on page 86, where it is discussed under the title: “The Notion of God’s Justice before the period of the Literary Prophets.” Wellhausen claims that God’s justice was largely unknown until the writings of those who put the Old Testament together. It was vitally important to place the label of “fairy tale” on the Genesis account before such a claim could indeed be made. Adam and Eve ran into God’s position on rewarding those who stayed in his universal plan and punishing those who decided they knew better long before anyone wrote about it, but that didn’t fit into Wellahusen’s agenda.

A view known as the Documentary Hypothesis of the Pentateuch is crucial to understanding Wellhausen’s impact upon textual criticism. The phrase literally means that there were four other writers of the Old Testament and Moses may have been one or more or perhaps had a finger in some place of the writing.

In 1678, an Oratorian Catholic Priest named Richard Simon stated that there were at least two writers of the Old Testament, an Elohist and a Yahwist. This was based on the fact that there are two mentions of the name of God in the Old Testament at different points, Jehovah and Elohim.

Wellhausen dressed this up even more in the rhetoric of “college boys” of his day. He attempted to clarify who wrote what when by establishing criterion and chronicling the books in question. He dated them by the postulate of the science of comparative religion. The base concept is that cults indigenous to one another evolve in the same manner: from a pluarity of gods to a singularity. This “evolution” occurs roughly at the same rate, due to the cults geographic proximity providing a social, economic, political, and religious catalyst toward mutual change. Therefore, said Wellhausen, those passages that deal with a single deity were added at later dates than the simple narratives. Therefore, books like Deuteronomy were written as a result of social evolution and not divine inspiration.

For Wellhausen, only Exodus was completely historical. Not surprising, since the Jewish nation still exists today and is historically tied to all those events directly in both religious and also in physical history. He felt however, that everything before the monarchy was a complete myth.

Wellhausen’s college boy ways were a major contributor to religious liberalism as it took out those things considered spiritual that were included in the Bible. Due to this “demythization” of scripture, the door was opened for others to give their own hand a shot at interpreting Biblical truth and as a result they created in their minds a round robin of allegories that were all sound and fury and no necessary truth.

The logical consequence of all this was a defection from sound doctrine by the church. Christianity slowly lost its soul amidst the strength of so called higher learning and became something of a humanist religion that looked like many others all around the world. Those who adopted Wellhausen’s reason soon found that they had a book of human theory instead of the living, breathing Word of God.

Now Christianity became a complex set of human rationalizations. This defection from the orthodox view of Christianity, leaving it merely the flavor religion of the day, left the Bible as a book without hope, without life, without authority. Intellectual pride spread throughout the schooling system of Europe in that day and as the old guard died off, the new education of “the Bible as just another book” took hold.

Little did those young people who were being educated in this way understand that they were indeed being brainwashed to lose faith in the Bible. Every generation believes it is superior to grandpa and grandma as they benefit from the progress that past societies have made, so naturally as this generational process moves on, the counter education can easily take hold as more than just an alternative, but more or less as the discovered truth that our poor ancestors just were too stupid to realize.

How much like the generations of the Israelites in the book of Kings! It boggles the mind.

Despite all of this, churches still existed. Choirs sang. Candles burned. But spiritual life had died. The Bible was now only empty pages once written by men long dead. European Christianity was destroyed from the inside while still possessing the form it had always held for ages. It was apostate. Apostate being that it had all the appearances of the real thing but not the power of God. It had become demented, a jabbering, gibbering fool sitting on the corner in rags arguing with himself. Preachers of the day began to quote and teach everything but the scriptures and they lost an important foothold on reality.

Many believe that the AntiChrist will be the leader of the European Economic Community, and they may be right. Europe lost its soul during the days of Wellhausen and if they do not once again become involved in a spiritual life, they may indeed give birth to the one who is to come. There are those who say in fact that he is already living in the Monarchy of Britain and ready to take up the crown of England. We shall see.

Matthew 16:5-10 says:

Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.” But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread? Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up?”

Basically, Jesus is here warning against being too proud of your own reasoning as it has little to do with the Lordship and abilities of God, the creator of the universe. You simply can’t leave God out of any argument about spiritual reality. It all starts with: Does God exist? If he DOES exist then anything is possible, if he doesn’t then you can make up anything you like.

He also speaks here about the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees, leaders who thought they knew it all, and had a right to direct others in the truth, and yet they fought with Jesus over everything. There is also a school of thought that says these two groups came from a certain lineage, a lineage which Christ himself called, in a sense, the Sons of the Devil. And that could very well be a literal idea. Physically literal. The SONS of Satan. If so, and we know that Satan is the great enemy of all we have been discussing, then they too had an agenda. If the line still lives today, it’s not too much of a stretch to state that Jesus would have called Wellhausen one of these men also, for he too had an agenda.

So Europe looks to be a part of that “great falling away” predicted in scripture before the end times. We get so programmed by the fantastic presentations of the media in venues like the movies and television, that we often are waiting for the sun to explode before we see something happening. Wouldn’t it be sad if we came to the end of it all and God pointed out to us that this historical event, happening long before we were even born, was indeed the beginning of the end, the great falling away before the second coming. But it’s not fantastic, so we missed it. Don’t be proud in your own understanding of these things and easily dismiss what I am suggesting. You could be dead wrong.
