Think Of The Homeless

There are over 30 million Americans who live on the streets of our nation. Can you consider giving something to a shelter near you? Your fellow human beings need socks because they walk everywhere. Food and shelter are great too, if they will take them. So please give.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Healthy Fat Free Cooking for Weight Loss

Healthy Fat Free
Cooking for Weight Loss

by John Chancellor

The human body is a complex machine and every person has different needs and body structure. While some seem to be able to eat rich and fatty foods without putting on a pound, most of us sooner or later are forced to try to reduce the amount of fat we consume in order to control our weight

Unfortunately we often associate the idea of "low-fat" cooking with the word "Yuck" and we all dread boring and tasteless food! Low fat does not necessarily mean tasteless. With some creativity and a dash of imagination you can now easily whip up fat free or low fat dishes which are both healthy and fun.

The first thing we need to remember is that a healthy body needs a reasonable amount of fat in our diets in order to operate properly and all fats are not same. The most important consideration in low fat diets is to avoid saturated fats. These saturated fats not only derived from animal sources, like fatty red meat, lard and butter, but also from vegetable sources such as palm oil or coconut oil.

Another type of fat that you need to stay away from is hydrogenated trans-fats which are often found in commercially fried foods like french fries or doughnuts. The oil that is extracted from seeds and nuts or other vegetable oils like safflower, olive, soy, and corn are polyunsaturated and mono-unsaturated fats. The healthiest and most important fats are Omega 3 fatty acid that comes from seafood, cod liver oil, and flax seed oil.

There are a few minor changes that you can make in the kitchen that will have a huge impact on your overall fat intake. When are cooking vegetables, try to steam them in a microwave or steamer. Many meat dishes can also be steamed as well. When you buy meat be sure to trim all visible excess fat, and avoid frying at all costs! Choose instead to boil, broil, bake or grill.

While making broths use light spices and avoid consuming thick gravies with cream sauces, instead make sauces of pureed vegetables sauces. Most dried or canned soups are not very healthy and can hinder in losing weight since they contain preservatives and high salts.

While preparing sauces and soups, substitute creams with skimmed milk; if the recipe requires cream, substitute low fat yogurt instead. Opt for sandwiches that are made with whole grain bread, and add lettuce and other green veggies. Instead of dinner rolls or white bread, make servings with whole wheat and sourdough breads.

Finally, avoid sugary sodas and opt for more servings of water or fruit juices instead. Pay attention to these simple ideas, and you can easily reduce the amount of fat you take into your body without sacrificing flavor!

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Health Do's and Don'ts

Health Do’s
and Don’ts

You could always go live by the beach and grow a natural garden nearby. Eat what the waters yield, shower in the rain, or......

Negative attitudes about dental health could be robbing your kids of their own good health. Dental problems tend to be universal and are not generally attributed to genetics, in fact they usually aren’t at all. No one is born with “soft teeth”. No one loses their teeth at an early age because their father did. Gums are not supposed to bleed. If you floss and you have gums that bleed, it’s because you don’t floss enough. If you hate flossing, there are now toothbrush looking floss sticks you can buy that “snap on” the floss sting, they work really well. False teeth are the result of bad hygiene, not a pleasant alternative to cavities. Never give anyone the idea that false teeth are a positive. Bad teeth and their results can also lead to brain problems, as they can infect the blood with nastiness I would rather not go into.

Some say mouthwash is not for kids. The pretty colors and nice flavor may make them want to drink it. Top brands can contain twice the amount of alcohol as beer and wine. Personally, I feel this is only a problem if you don’t monitor a child’s use of mouthwash. They must spit, but they must also have the benefit of killing all the bacteria and germs present, that will sit on their teeth all night while they sleep, without some type of cleanser.

I have a few other things to say about mouthwash, particularly Listerine. If one just looks at the science before you, you may come to the realization that something like Listerine can be a great help to you beyond what doctors will tell you. For instance, “pimples.” Teens get lots of them for hormonal reasons, and their pimples can be handled by putting lots of water in their system, unless there is some chronic skin problem. But did you know that Listerine works great on pimples?  I can’t say that the strong, and often terrible condition that teens have with pimples can be helped by spreading Listerine on them before bed time, since I have not seen it done. But for you adults out there who get the occasional pimple on the nose or forehead, Listerine works like magic. Someone out there try this with their teenager and let me know how it works.

More mouthwash stuff. Living here in Los Angeles as I do. Bad air and smog pose a problem I have never had in my entire lifetime. Namely, my ears get all raw and red and drain into my throat. This causes a sore throat and makes me sleepy for some reason. I know several people here in LA who have the same problem. I have solved it in two different ways. 1) By standing in a shower and letting the water run into my ears, swallowing consistently, to get the ears cleaned out. 2) But I have also solved this mystery by pouring a little Listerine in my ear when it gets upset like this. I let it sit in my ear for about five minutes, and as others have told me, if indeed this is some type of bacterial inflammation, then it makes sense that Listerine would work, since it was made to take care of bacteria. I know it sounds crazy, but it works. Be careful if you try it. (Hydrogen peroxide is toxic, never ingest it)

A few years ago, I spent some time in a hotel that had a wolf spider problem. Wouldn’t you know one morning I woke up and could not hear a thing. I had gone deaf in one ear. I used a Q-Tip to clean out what I believed must be an over abundance of wax, since this has happened in the past, only to pull out this black, ugly sludge... which had small black legs with it on the Q-Tip. Yeah, you got it. A wolf spider had crawled into my ear over night. The darn thing bit me inside my ear when I went to clean it out. My inner ear swelled up and I was still deaf for a few days afterward. Listerine helped heal this. No kidding! Of course, it hurt a bit, but the whole thing went away in no time after I applied the Listerine.

Liquids like shower water and mouthwash won’t hurt your inner ear, but solid objects would always be a no-no. Some people just can’t deal with their ears, however, and go to a doctor to get drugs to handle an ear draining or bacterial infection problem. If you must do this, just remember that antibiotics are for viruses. They are also “against life”, hence the term anti-biotic. Taking  an anti-biotic is a small dose of death to your body. It screws up your lower intestines something fierce, and you become a human “fart” factory. If you have gas problems, you probably were given an anti-biotic as a child. Doctor’s don’t know how to fix this problem. See: www.knowthecause.com

Children’s medicine is determined by weight and  height, not age.

Does your child have allergies? Does you child wet the bed? The two can be connected. Allergies to cow’s milk, chocolate, eggs, grain or citrus fruit can make kids wet the bed. Their bladder swells and keeps the outlet from closing properly. This allergy can also bring on deep sleep, which stops them from getting up at night to release their precious cargo. Find out what the allergy is and  keep it out of their diet, naturally the problem goes away. And no drugs were used!!!!

The years between birth and two years old are prime time for language development. But what if your child if deaf? There is such a thing now as a crib-o-gram. Diagnosis for deafness can be tested from the first day a baby is born, so you’ll have a leg up on those two years the child will miss.

Second hand cigarette smoke is as real a killer for the smoker as it is for those who live with them.  Pregnant women who inhale their husbands cigarette smoke are at a high risk for producing a baby with birth defects. Trust me, I know this first hand. It destroys the folic acid in a woman’s body. Cigarettes acidify the blood of a smoker and the second hand smoke also does this for those who breath in the fumes from this nasty habit. Infants are much more likely to get bronchitis and pneumonia when exposed to second hand smoke. Just say NO to cigarettes, people.

Are you or someone you know pregnant? Cigarette smoke is one thing, but under cooked meat is also a problem. As is exposure to animal droppings. Cleaning the cat box while pregnant?  Taxoplasmosis leads to mental retardation, blindness, and epilepsy. Cook your meat thoroughly, keep the cat outside.

A kid’s vision should be checked before they are one year old. Early tests check for developmental problems like poor focusing, poor convergence, and amblyopia; a condition that can cause one eye to stop working all together. Kids are rookies, lets face it, they will assume everyone sees the world the way they do, even if it is fuzzy and out of focus. (This goes for mental perception as well.)

Caffeine has been proven to stunt the growth of babies in the womb. It is a drug. It does have drug like effects, and science has proven it is not a good thing for babies in the womb. Stay natural, mom. If it doesn’t come right out of the ground, skip it.

I recently tried Apple Jacks and Froot Loops cereal again after about 25 years of having left that sort of fake food behind. The formula is NOTHING like what I remember. They have completely changed it into a piker of their former selves.  Why? Because the sugar they used to use was proven to make hyper active kids mean and nasty. It’s true, sugar can make your kid a real monster. Sugar is also as addicting as caffeine and cigarettes, it can also put a belly on you in later life that will just not go away. Sugar is evil. Plain and simple.

Old aspirin can hurt you. Decomposition of aspirin in the stomach can aggravate you to no end.  You can bleed, get ulcers, anemia, and even erode the surface of your stomach with daily use. Aspirin makers believe that they are making something for the benefit of mankind, but they could do a little more work on aspirin.

Antacids often mask symptoms. They can cause kidney stones or even increase the amount of heart burn you experience. The sodium in them can cause problems for those with high blood pressure, heart problems, and those on low salt diets. Better to deal with acid reflux by changing the diet for good. A high alkaline diet is the best way. See: www.knowthecause.com or get this book, The PH miracle.

Are you one of those people who has nightly problems with acid getting into your throat and kicking you awake from a sound sleep? Your esophagus is relaxing while sleeping and deep breathing is sucking the acid from your tummy right into your throat like a straw in a soda bottle. Have you ever had the problem of waking up and feeling the acid has gone into your lungs? Felt like you were going to die, didn’t it? Go jump in a hot shower and breath the steam deeply. It will alkalanize the lining of your lungs and stop the burning. Of course, you may elect to also go to the emergency room. It’s up to you. Ah, the things you have to do to adjust to the ravages of age.

Addicted to nasal sprays? Throw out the Afrin! Afrin is a cursed blight on mankind. So strong that it will addict you over night and then make you bleed. It will demand constant application even when you don’t need it, and it will cause your sinuses to swell up until you use it again. Afrin is like cocaine, plain and simple.

Have pets? Sneeze all the time? You’re allergic to them. Will it help if you get rid of the pets? No. The fur follicles that you are allergic to get up inside of your air conditioning unit and continue to spread all over the house when you use the air. Something for allergies may help, because you love fluffy and spot, but if you are allergic, or someone you know is, you must clean out the air ducts on a regular basis. Big money in that.

Natural foods, clean air and water. Basics for healthy living never go out of style, no matter what Madison Avenue would have you believe.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Digestion, Food, Mixing Foods, Eating Right, Stomach trouble, Acid Reflux, Indigestion, Gas

Give Your Gut A Break

When you are a young k
id, and even into your 20’s and for some of us into our 30’s, you can usually eat almost anything and never have any real problems with your tummy. When we get older, the gut no longer has the power to stave off the horrors that can come with eating the wrong thing at the wrong time of day. This can deeply effect all that we do, from sleeping correctly to keeping gas from making us a public spectacle.

Proper digestion is a must if we are to have happy tummies in our older years. There is a lot of information and many programs out there that are designed to help you make sense of food and its effects on your whole person. The problem is that many of them are confusing and often give conflicting advice. The real truth of the matter is actually quite simple. If we just think scientifically about our guts, we can get along a lot better than most people today and we don’t have to just “put up” with the constant problems many of us have dealing just with our digestive systems.

The linchpin to understanding our digestive systems is that our tummies are not designed for complex meals. One type of food makes a certain demand on the digestive system and another makes quite a different type of demand. We certainly can digest all sorts of different types of food, but this doesn’t mean that the job should be done all at once. Protein digestion, for instance, takes place in the stomach and requires a highly acidic environment. Starch, however, requires a highly alkaline environment. This also takes place in the mouth and in the small intestine. Vegetables and fats are also digested in the small intestine and require a mild alkaline environment.

It’s no stretch of the imagination to accept that if foods that are digested differently are included in the same meal, then havoc will ensue. Somewhere, somehow, there will be incomplete digestion of something if digestive necessity is mixed in its purposes. What you cannot properly digest, will be digested by harmful microforms. Compromised digestion paves the way for the little bad creatures in your gut to grow and become stronger, and when they do, they then produce lots of sticky mucus. Got a problem with mucus? This is one of the ways to control it.

How do we usually eat? Meat and potatoes, fish and chips, chicken and rice, burger and fries, and just about any type of sandwich. The Earl of Sandwich knew not what he was doing in combining multiple types of food in what was considered a nifty way to make a meal short and convenient. All these examples are an abuse of your digestive system, and when you reach middle age, your gut cannot fight off the effects of a lifetime of an abused gut. YOU HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY. Combining sugar and starch and sugar and protein leads to the same problems. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are of Satan, and you should know that they are like a cruise missile for your digestive tract.

So what is the answer? In any meal it is important to mix no more than four foods from no more than two types of foods. Three vegetables with one protein or one complex carb are good examples. For instance, steamed carrots and a tomato salad with noodles. Choosing fewer foods provides a light load on the digestive system. If you use only one protein per meal, and only one complex carbohydrate then you are doing well, and your tummy will thank you.

If you concentrate on consuming foods that are high in water and low in sugar, you can go a long way to helping your gut heal itself, and you’ll sleep better too. This helps to automatically eliminate the problematic foods. The water in the food assists in the digestion and also increases the proper balance on the blood of alkaline and acid components. If you consider the makeup of your body, 70 percent water, 20 percent natural oils, 7 percent protein, 2 percent sugar, then foods that reflect this combination will be much easier on the body.

Keep in mind that you are trying to keep animal protein and starch separate, and sugar, including fruit, should be kept away from any combination. Low sugar, high water vegetables combine with everything. They are fine with protein, starch and oily foods, and even with other vegetables.

Starches can mix with veggies and low-sugar fruits. But no starches are to be combined with animal protein, and this includes starchy veggies too. Lemons and tomatoes are quite acidic and yet they make the body more alkaline, therefore they can be considered very helpful for the digestion of starches. Bread, pasta and potatoes should be eaten along side veggies and not fish.

Animal protein mixes well with veggies or low sugar fruits, but not starch, acids or oils. Vegetable proteins combine with all low sugar, high water content veggies and fruits, and also good oils. Have fish with veggies and not grain, no bread. No rice either, fish should be served with a bed of greens , even if they are steamed. Never cook veggies that are still alive, you kill the benefits of veggies by cooking them.

High sugar fruit should be left to itself, or not eaten at all. No fruit with protein, starch, veggies or anything oily. The good fruits of digestion are: lemon, lime, raw tomato, avocado, bell peppers of all colors (red bell peppers have the highest vitamin C content), and non-sweet grapefruit.

Seeds, nuts and avocado, all great sources of healthy fats, can be combined with plant and animal proteins, starches or even high sugar fruits. Keep the fish away from the oil and butter, use lemon juice, salsa, or herbs; your tummy will thank you.

You may not like to hear it, but the veggies you get from the Earth are the best thing for your body and they were made to be so. There are a few fruits which are also the best for you, but you have to keep in mind the fructose sugars contained in much of them. Fruit is great for repairing the body when it needs help, but it will make you bloat if too much fructose is consumed too quickly. Veggies build the body and keep you in balance, so it makes sense that they combine with each other well and also should be more and more a major part of your diet as you grow older.

Any combination of meat and starches, this includes those tasty onion rings, is murder on the gut. If you are not 15 years old, you need to stop this sort of thing right now. Acids block the production of ptyalin, a component of saliva that is necessary for starch digestion. Potatoes, bread, pasta, and even whole grains, break down into simple sugars in the body. Adding a high sugar fruit, even in juice form will layer sugar on top of sugar (and acid on top of acid). Want to shut down your immune system? Catch a cold on the bus or subway? Fill up on this kind of sugar combination and you will be defenseless for about five hours as your system literally quits functioning. Oils will also slow starch digestion, but is not a major problem if the starch is only 20 percent of the alkalinizing meal. Don’t avoid healthy oils, they can neutralize acids in the blood, and this is the best news possible for us all.

Animal protein in the stomach produces acid. Sugars and starches make even more acid in combination with protein. This leads to indigestion, heartburn and gas. Oils will slow the digestion of animal proteins and this causes constipation and acid reflux, heartburn and gas. Gas, gas, gas!

Most fruits are very high in sugars, the fructose I have mentioned before. They produce a lot of acid. With protein combined this is an invitation to major acid over production. Starch and fruit is double the sugar. Which means that if you eat starch and fruit together, the starch will prevent the digestion of the fruit and you can have rotting fruit in your digestive tract in no time at all. Nice, huh? Fruit and oil leads to constipation, and a wasting of nutrients. Remember that fruits are cleansers and healers, veggies are builders, so asking your gut to do different jobs at the same time can make you old before your time. You are what you eat and how you eat. Could you be killing yourself slowly with the wrong combos of foods?

You might not consider this, but choosing a drink with food can be a problem too. Just leave the drink aside, don’t wash down food with a drink, even water. Cold drinks can shut down the digestive fire needed in the belly and interferes once again with the ultimate purpose of what your body is designed to do. Drink water way before the meal, like a half hour or so, it can dilute the digestive chemicals that will be needed. Eat your juicer foods, with a higher water content first in a meal. Veggies and salads are actually good appetizers and help with the heavier items to come later in the main dish. A little warm water after a meal can also help with the digestion.

Remember, you have been taught wrong in the area of food consumption. Marketing companies have only been interested in your wallet and not your well being, despite what they say. If you have a big tummy problem, and just go to the acid control section of your drug store to see how much of an industry has been born from digestive problems, then you need to give yourself a break from the old ways of thinking about the relationship of your tummy and food. Advertisers sell image, not truth. You suffer from their lies designed to take the money from your pocket. Once you are ill, the doctor then gets his cut, and he may have to cut YOU. Find the truth, and the truth will set you free. ;-)

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Candida and Alkaline Blood

Candida and Alkaline Blood

Today I’ll continue with the posts on Alkaline blood and its importance. Something called Candida is a by product of having too much acid waste in the blood. In Latin the word is Candida, but you and I would know this organism as yeast, but in reality it is really a fungus. Most problems in the body are caused by fungus, and few people are aware of this. Yeast and Fungus are single celled forms of plant life that live in the air, the ground and the water. What we are discussing here is the presence of Candida in the gastro-intestinal tract. We actually need it for sustaining life. It goes bad when it becomes drastically overgrown and can be annoying and or fatal. Yes, fatal. Women know all about this stuff when they get yeast infections, and their kids can get something called “Thrush” which is just the yeast growing in the throat.

Mainstream medicine knows about all of this stuff, and they also know about the problems stemming from too much yeast and fungus, but they do little about it. Giving your kids antibiotics when they are young sets up the whole chain reaction for later adult life. The truth is that with our typical American diets most people develop these out of control growths within their bodies. Excess Candida is really just ONE of the villains. We are deluged by an attack of microforms, including yeast, fungus and mold, viruses and bacteria. All these little creatures deposit poison in our system. This is called a mycotoxin or exotoxin, basically meaning “fungus or bacterial poison”. These are the acid wastes that swim in your blood and are deposited there when they eat up all your glucose, proteins and fats, the stuff your body needs for energy. Therefore, the Candida and such eat what you need to survive and then "take a dump" in your blood stream.

These poisons take advantage of the weaker parts of your body, polluting them and making them over tired. In acidic blood they have free reign to cause all sorts of havoc by breaking down bodily tissues and processes. Their poison doesn’t just get into our blood but also into the cells of bodily tissues. What this means is that as they poison you, they break down something like your liver, and make it work less efficiently. If your liver is the bodies filter, and it can’t eliminate your own waste, then you are now doubly poisoned.

Over the entire history of our planet fungus, yeast and mold have developed into over five hundred thousand different forms. They go from periods of explosive growth to thousands of years of dormancy. Egyptian tombs have held onto living spores since they were first sealed and until they were opened in our time. These little guys produce as many toxins as they have family members, too. They just love to provide a deadly cocktail for their hosts.

It’s this cocktail that does all the damage, not the little critters themselves. Understand though, they only appear because of a bad environment, like acidic blood for instance. The wastes cause a huge list of symptoms, from diseases to chronic and degenerative problems. If you have athlete’s foot, you have a mild fungus, if you have AIDS, you have a monster problem. Underlying symptoms can be things like diabetes, cancer, atherosclerosis, osteoporosis, fatigue and also infections that can be transmitted from person to person.

Signs of an overgrowth can be, pain, infection, depression, hyperactivity, antisocial behavior, asthma, hemorrhoids, colds, endometriosis, dry skin and itching, toenail fungus, joint pain, dizziness, heartburn, gas, chronic overweight problems and on and on. In fact if you just feel bad overall, you might consider trying to change the PH of your blood from acidic and see how that makes a difference!

Micro-forms love to swim in their own crap. They also love the low oxygen levels that come with doing so. One of the problems for people with high blood pressure is a low amount of oxygenation in the blood cells. Natural breathing methods have proven to alleviate the problem to some degree, and although not an end all cure, they do point to a connection between the inner state of blood cells and the overgrowth of microforms. It’s those poisons they create and dump in your blood that also add to the acidic environment, so if you can just get a picture of the swamp that is your blood stream because of all these out of control critters in your belly, perhaps it will motivate someone to take a look at this problem instead of just getting a pill from the doctor.

So how is it done? How do we battle these little monsters? Surprisingly it can all be done with what you and I place in our bodies to turn the blood alkaline. They don’t like alkaline blood and will actually turn off as the blood moves away from the acidic environment.

We all need to be concerned for ourselves and our loved ones in discussing the interior of our guts and the condition of our blood. What happens is a two fold process inside out systems. The first step for microforms is the small colonies they collect in inside of our bodies. In this phase we don’t realize any symptoms from the poison they deposit within us. However, in the next phase we are presented with sudden chronic problems that become obvious. Your body is now screaming for help and the problem may have taken a few decades to develop right under your nose, ever since you first got that shot at the doctors office when you were a kid. But that’s just one of the ways it can happen. Bad diet can trigger a problem, too.

When your body goes from acid back to base, or alkaline, yeast, fungus and mold stop growing and revert back to being friendly, at this point the body can now eliminate all the poisons they have dumped inside you and things can return to normal. No more Pepcid AC.

Let’s say you had a tropical fish tank. If you polluted the water and filled it with lots of decaying food, and then deoxygenized the water, you’d have a tank full of dead fish in no time. When you are young, you don’t realize what you are doing to your body many times, with all the abuse it can take. But when you are about 40 years of age all that comes home to roost, and it’s not just that you are getting older. Literally, you are now dying of poison and will probably not live to see the last half of your sixties because of what you fail to do today. And that should never be the case. I can’t imagine thinking I had only 18 years left to live, when I am only 40 something and NOT doing something about my internal condition. Do you have someone whom you love who has chronic problems? Get them to change that fish tank water for good! Don’t let them die too soon, when they could have gone deep into their nineties.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Heart Attack Matters

Heart Attack Matters

It has been shown that the leading causes of death for male executives in their forties and fifties is usually cancer and degenerative diseases of the heart and liver. A 50 year old male executive who doesn’t get a lot of exercise and sits behind a desk for most of the day and then the TV at night, with perhaps a small bit of hypertension, has a 15% chance of dying in the next ten years. The causes for such an event are several: Heart attack, lung cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, highway accident, stroke, cancer of the intestines and or rectum.

How does one reduce the odds of this happening? If you smoke, you need to stop now and add 1.5 years onto your life. Exercising can add another year, no alcohol can add another 8 months, seat belts can add another 6 months, and losing weight can add another 3 months.*

*The Life Extension Institute

Heart attacks rarely just happen, they often are the results of compulsive behaviors, both physical and mental. If one makes work and financial success a top priority over personal health and personal needs, this can lead down a road to futility that cannot be returned from. Continuing to spend holidays, weekends and evenings at the office, believing that your family’s financial health is more important than their emotional needs, will leave them without a mother or father. Taking the brief case home at night when you don’t stay late at the office, and then reviewing the days problems at home each night will also cause you to have problems.

Let’s just run down a few more ideas for heart attacks:

1) Agreeing to every request, never saying no.
2) Accepting every invitation to serve on a board or committee.
3) Using lunch as a midday business conference.
4) Taking shorter vacations than you are entitled to.
5) Refusing to delegate authority.
6) Working 12 hours a day.
7) Smoking, overeating and drinking at night as a reward for putting in a hard day.
8) Associating mainly with business associates who do the same things in #7.
9) Avoiding exercise because you believe it’s a waste of time, after all, time is money!

If you already have these habits, then you are headed for trouble, my friend. In order to begin on the road out of the Coronary Club, you’ll need to get involved in a committed exercise program, three to four times a week. And stick to it.

Physical exercise and also taking a moderate amount of alcohol are connected to higher levels of blood protein. This combination can guard against heart ailments. But you need the combination, not just one or the other. This blood protein is called high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It binds to cholesterol in the blood and carries the cholesterol through the arteries. Cleansing the cholesterol from the blood prevents forming blockages that cause heart disease.

Heart attacks and strokes can be prevented. Here are some ideas.

1) Check blood pressure regularly. Early detection and treatment has played an important part in the declining number of strokes in the US, About 2/3 of stoke victims have either high blood pressure or diabetes.

2) Eliminate excess body fat. Shifting to a low fat, low cholesterol diet is the best thing. Avoiding obesity is important in lowering blood pressure in order to reduce levels of harmful low-density lipoproteins (LDL). This helps the blood to flow more smoothly and resist clotting by reducing the deposits of cholesterol on blood-vessel walls.

3) Avoid birth control pills if you smoke or have high blood pressure. The pill increases the chance of stroke 6 times more than the ordinary woman with only high blood pressure.

4) Reducing stress with regular physical contact can greatly decrease the chances of health problems. This applies even if you live alone and only have a cat or dog as a companion. The regular ability to feel external stimulus is both important not only physically, but also psychologically.

5) And of course, the regular use of fish oil is an old and useful stand by. Eat more fish with oil in it, like sardines, salmon and flounder.

Would you be able to tell if someone was having a stroke? What if YOU were having one?

Look for these things:

1) Sudden temporary weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg.
2) Sudden loss of speech or the inability to understand speech.
3) Sudden loss of vision in one eye.
4) Double vision. (Not the Foreigner kind.)
5) Unexplained headaches or a change in pattern of headaches.
6) Dizziness.
7) Changes in personality or mental ability.

Would you be able to tell if someone was having a Heart Attack? What if YOU were having one?

Look for these things:

1) A crushing, searing pain the in the middle of the chest, moving quickly into the arms, shoulders or neck.
2) Sharp pains in the pit of the stomach.
3) Fainting spells, nausea, sweating and breathing problems.
4) Heartburn or indigestion that just won’t go away.
5) If indigestion or heartburn doesn’t respond to the usual treatments within 2 minuets, get to the hospital. The majority of heart attacks happen within three hours of the first signs.
6) If you are having recurrent problems, it is best to have someone around that knows how to react in case of a problem. Someone trained in cardio pulmonary resuscitation would be the best person to have around. Having one of those little heart stimulator machines in the house would be a wise, wise idea.
7) Remember CPR is for people trained to administer it, Hollywood movies would have you believe otherwise. They are lying to you.

So okay, you’ve had a heart attack and survived it. What do you do to prevent the little bugger from happening again?

The recurrent rate is now about 45% in the United States. In order to control things now, you’ll need to eat more fish and fowl, No red meat. (I mean it!) No heavy meals at night and no exercise within two hours of a meal. Always low fat meals, as much as humanly possible. No smoking and moderate exercise one hour a day every day no matter what. Buy a treadmill and watch TV while walking at night. Use your imagination.

No high altitudes or running or jogging. Too much of anything can be a bad thing, even if you are working out for health and you push too much. No heavy drinking, remember a little wine can be good but a lot of wine can be death.

Rehearse for emergencies. Feeling a pain in the chest in the middle of the night has to be planned for, after all, it is YOUR life we’re talking about here.

Are you a Type A person? This is the kind of person who drives themselves to breakdowns. Don’t be a control freak, you can’t be the boss of everything. Even if you believe that in order to get a job done right you have to do it yourself, you have to come to terms with the fact that not every job WILL be done right.

Time sickness is what Type A personalities have. They are obsessed by the idea of getting more and more done in less and less time. They are constantly upset by traffic jams, people who talk too slow or anything that gets in their way. When Five o’clock, or the end of the work day comes, GO HOME.

Think about this: Did you ever get a promotion because you were impatient? Because you operated at a faster rate? Does it help to be hostile or aggressive?

Twenty to thirty percent of all heart attacks happen just before or just after travel. When having that business trip, relax before and after the meeting. Plan for the trip and the work you need to do for the week before, have it finished over the course of the week, not immediately. Hotel, meeting, hotel. Follow this pattern. Use the KISS method. Keep It Simple (Stupid).

Ideas for caring for your heart.

1) Eat two to three meatless meals a week.
2) Eat fish and chicken rather than beef. (Remember that grain fed beef is fattened up for higher bottom lines for the meat industry and when the cattle has been bloated and you eat the cattle products, YOU get bloated.)
3) High roughage, low cholesterol breakfasts.
4) Skip dinner when you begin to gain weight. Lots of weight can be lost by refusing to eat after 6pm.
5) Avoid dairy products. (If a cow has been given hormones for bigger meat payoffs, then its milk will have hormones and your 11 year old daughter will develop breasts way before she’s ready for them.)
6) Swimming two or three times a week helps, but personally, I prefer something more aerobic since swimming tends to be anaerobic. However, the lower stress levels caused by working out in water can be very, very beneficial.
7) Exercise rather than attend meetings or sitting around watching TV all night.
8) Give love to the atmosphere at home and also at work, if you can. Maybe you don’t love what you do, but you can give love to it.
9) Keep an eye on the blood pressure.
10) Bicycle and use the stairs more often.
11) Eat more raw veggies and a few more raw fruits in the diet. Fruit juice is a miracle brew. Less animal products, less sugar.
12) Practice muscle relaxation.

It’s sad to say, but the majority of our lives have been brainwashed into us. We’re constantly bombarded with the ideas of others who just want to legally take the money out of our pockets and put it into theirs. The only difference between a man on the corner with a gun who is demanding your wallet and a salesman, is that the salesman has to convince you to turn over your valuable money for his product that will lose value almost immediately. Less TV and movies in your life will help immensely. There is just too much sales crap out there constantly being fed into our brains. Keep your money. Keep your health. The two will go hand in hand to help you to live on terms that are YOURS and not some salesman’s.

You only have one heart.

Only ONE.

What we are discussing here is the presence of Candida in the gastro intestinal tract.

Therefore, the Candida and such eat what you need to survive and then take a dump in your blood stream.

Underlying symptoms can be things like diabetes, cancer, atherosclerosis, osteoporoses, fatigue and also infections that can be transmitted from person to person.

Microforms love to swim in their own crap.

My Grandparents lived to be in their nineties, they grew up in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s and they didn’t have to contend with all the medicine and fake food and closed in environments we all take as normal. My parents DID have a different way of living, including too much cigarette smoke, too much sugary foods and the introduction of antibiotics in the 1950’s. They only lived into their early 60’s and 70’s. Let’s get together folks and stop this madness.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Health Fallacies

Checking Health Fallacies

All in one vitamin supplements can be misleading as to the amount of nutrients they provide. They can supply about 100% of some nutrients, trace amounts of others, and leave out some vital ones all together. Consumers often think vitamins can be a replacement for a balanced diet and can miss some important stuff as a result. The thing about vitamins that you don’t hear is that tablets often go right through you. Go to any public gathering and see if the port-a-jons aren’t full of vitamin tablets at the bottom when they dump into sewage. You’d be amazed! And that’s all money those people will never see again while getting only about 3% of the benefit from a tablet.

Breast infections from breast feeding is not necessarily a sign that breast feeding should be stopped. Nursing with the infected breast will help to cure the infection, which is called “Mastitis”. Milk is not infected by the breast infection... but I gotta tell ya, I would think twice about putting my baby’s mouth on it. As a man I can only write about this, not recommend it. Although, I have heard it said that breasts “know” when something is missing from a baby’s system and therefore produce more of that chemical need, I don’t know how true that is, but if it IS true, that’s not evolution people! Praise God!

B15 may be in trouble these days as the medical community is having second thoughts as to it’s effectiveness and safety. The FDA, the masters of Big Pharm, say it has no therapeutic value and there have also been some high profile doctors who have said it could be harmful. There also is no standard profile for the drug, so it could be made of anything. It’s known as Pangamate.

Getting a rash after an injection of Penicillin is not always an allergic reaction. The rash is often a result of the illness. True allergic reactions are things like, hives, swelling in throat, joint pain, and chest constriction.

Milk and dairy products may not help ulcers. Calcium in the milk helps to create the need for acid secretion that will aggravate and ulcer. Antacids with high buffering capacity are better, and of course food also acts as a buffer. It will help to begin a grazing diet if you have ulcers. This way you always have something in the tummy and your sugar levels won’t swing wildly either, but of course that food you graze on should be raw veggies and fruits. I have found myself that some meat just before bed time keeps the acid stomach away and I can sleep, probably because it takes the system 8 hours or so to dissolve meat. But don’t miss the idea of blood alkalinization. Most of the food in the grocery store is NOT food, and it causes an acidic blood stream. Natural foods will make the blood more alkaline and get you off of any ulcer medicines. But the effect is very fragile and can be ruined by ONE donut.

Get some “Prime PH” from this website:

I highly recommend.

Corrective shoes for kids with foot problems rarely do any good. Children regularly outgrow any lower limb problems without any help. Severe cases may require casts, and splints and such, but wedges for pigeon toes and bowlegs or knock knees do not correct the basic deformity.

Make sure that your aspirin has entertic coating or it could lead to stomach stress in the future. Buffered aspirin really doesn’t work, and it’s just a marketing name anyhow. Tests have shown that aspirin taken with the coating works the way you would expect it to, preventing tummy stress.

Not all cholesterol is bad for you. The good kind, HDL: High Density Lipoprotein, is associated with reduced risk of heart disease. It blocks the production of the low density cholesterol, which clogs the arteries. Long distance runners, joggers, moderate drinkers, and the college educated are more likely to have the better cholesterol. Overweight persons and heavy smokers, plus the less educated, have more levels of the bad stuff and are at greater risk.

Dark circles beneath the eyes are probably hereditary. There is no medical evidence that fatigue or lack of sleep cause bags and dark circles. That’s more old information that was wrong that we today still take as truth. Time to upgrade our everyday knowledge people.

Well, that’s all I have for today. I hope my blog is bringing you some info you can use, and I hope to see you again soon. Have a great day, and remember... you be good. :-)

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Sickness, Disease and Microforms in Acidic Blood

Sickness, Disease and Microforms in Acidic Blood

In the late 1800’s, the work of Louis Pasture developed ideas in classical Biology that disease relied on germs that come from outside of the body. But there are some amazing works done by his contemporaries which did not receive the press of Pasture’s work. Their endeavors produced intell that points to a reality of bacteria and other microforms that come from our very body cells themselves.

Pasture believed in something called the “germs of the air”, and was implicit in their primary role of making one ill, however, the truth is a bit different. Although, involved in the act of making one ill, the germs of the air themselves are simply another catalyst for an already compromised biological system.

Including the various microforms that can be generated within one’s own body, their entrance coming through our respiratory system or intestinal tract, they also begin to grow once they are within the body. Once interior, they then promote similar growth of unhealthy bacteria already present in the body, depending of course, on the environment they find themselves in.

As I have written of before, when the blood is acidic, these microforms get the big “go ahead” for this process. To contract an infection, a body has to be predisposed to it already. This plays a big part in family history diseases such as cancer and such, for how many people do you know never get certain ailments, while others have it rife within their families? If you have the acidity to let a bug take hold, then you play right into the family illness history. Conversely, if you already know of family history, you can end it NOW, at least for yourself, by working on the acidity of your own blood.

Consider for a moment the flu epidemic of 1918. It killed about 30 million people, a huge amount in that day as compared to our current worldwide population numbers. However, it would happen to one home and not to the neighbors next door. Without the fertile ground of acidic blood, germs can’t proliferate, much in the same way as hard soil won’t produce crops.

Microforms also have an annoying ability to be metamorphs. Bacteria can change into yeast, yeast into fungus and fungus into mold. The work that has revealed this has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, for Lord knows what profitable reasons, and has resulted in more than a hundred years of misinformation about health and disease. This knowledge proved way back then that disease is a product of our inner environment and not the result of an external attack.

This forgotten chapter in biological history revealed something living on its own within the cells and bodily fluids that is capable of developing into a more complex form. These elements are known as microzymas, and they are the beginning of all cells in their inception. The body’s regeneration and degeneration always begins and ends with microzymas. In the correct environment these microzymas can evolve into more complex entities, including bacteria and fungi. Yes, it would seem this is the curse of the body. However, it is a process that has corrective tendencies, as it can metamorph both forward and backward, becoming the more benign entity once again as it had first been. Therefore, reversals of disease itself, at a certain point of development, can actually be “cured” due to a change of the environment in which it lives. That is not to say that long term damage from disease conditions can be reversed, for as once damage is done, it can be permanent, but the major concept to take with you is that an ounce of prevention must be the linchpin of physical directive health.

Pleomorphism is the term of the microforms ability to, in total physical reality, act like some Star Trek alien and be one thing, like fungus today, and revert to a microzyma tomorrow. One thing, the fungus, being harmful, the other being the benign form of the microzyma. In fact it has been purported in theory that red blood cells may also be able to perform this same function. They are able to become whatever the body needs, be it brain cells, bone cells or anything else. Bacteria and its buddies: fungus, yeast and mold are merely the anitcell developments of red blood cells and an indicator of where you are on the blood acid chart.

For instance, you have already seen water turn into steam or ice, this is a pleomorphism. Keeping in mind that it is the environment that brings about this transformation. Thus it is quite natural and logical for our inner bodies to have the same principle capability as we are all a part of God’s great creation. Chemical structure never changes, but the form does, and in often too many instances the function also changes. Steam or ice can be used in various other functions that cannot include just regular water in its primary form.

Acidic blood is the direct environment that changes microforms in the human body. Microzymas don’t always become bacteria, and fungus doesn’t always become mold, it requires an acidic environment. A blood stream that is also a healthy alkaline environment prevents these things from happening merely due to its germane state.

There have been incredibly informative experiments that have displayed the transformation properties of microzymas. For instance, one type of amoeba (a single celled organism) feeds on bacteria and another dysentary amoeba, feeds on rice. Each one has specific DNA that is resident in their form. Amazingly though, if you flip flop their diets, the genetic material changes! They metamorph into each other. Literally they each become the other microform. I know, sounds like science fiction, doesn’t it? This is even a more tantamount change than a caterpillar into a butterfly, but more so, as it can happen in the blink of an eye. Yet, keep in mind, the activity remains consistent with all other natural occurrences that have their logical place in our reality, so it is not all that surprising, this is simply a fact that has not been known before the beginnings of microbiology study.

Science is all about those things which are observable, if it is not observable, then it is not science but something else. Pasture’s work of “germ theory” benefited from marketing efforts and press coverage much to the detriment of us all, as these amazing biology facts were being discovered in his day and time yet they were largely ignored. Mainstream medicine has largely ignored these facts as it has been “hi-jacked” by forces such as Big Pharm, who’s main purpose seems to be getting at least ten prescription pills into every person on the planet on a daily basis.

But it’s not all their fault, the fault also lies in the malleability of the microforms themselves. Let’s take beer for instance, only a trace amount of yeast is present after fermentation of the grain, and it is no longer visible to the naked eye. Only the alcohol - a “mycotoxin” by the way - is still remaining. Where did the yeast go? It has returned to microzymas. Now think about cancer, every cancer tumor is surrounded by a pool of lactic acid. (Another mycotoxin) But the microform may or may not be there, so even when you go looking for it you may not find it. The bottom line though is environment, keep the blood alkaline and the weeds won’t take root.

Death, you may say, is perfectly natural. We all gotta go sometime, and indeed the insanity of acid blood and microform invasion is perfectly natural when one is headed to the great beyond. Becoming acidic is actually the body’s way of ushering in death. Once you stop breathing, the anaerobic environment that microforms breed in becomes paramount. It is then that these little deconstucters begin their natural work. They are indeed the principle undertakers of our bodies when we die, for they are assigned the job of taking the body back to the dust from whence it first came. You might call this the carbon cycle, as I have talked about in other posts, the body decomposes down from its complex information process into the simplified form of dust. If we had begun in the water as primordial ooze, then we would deconstruct down into a liquid form, and that is more evidence of evolution propaganda. But to stay on point, microforms are what makes the body rot.

Therefore, keeping the above in mind, if you have microform overgrowth within the body of a living being: you have begun to prematurely perish. If you have older folks in your family whose houses smell odd to you, it is the fermenting bodies that you are perceiving. They are literally rotting while still alive.

Understand though, there is nothing inherently wrong with the micro-organisms themselves, they are actually functional and good for the body when contained within the correct environment. Cells all over the body must constantly break down and renew themselves in order to stay healthy, microforms are the garbage collectors for this process. Their function remains benign to the body in this instance. As in the water into steam example, you would have a hard time drinking steam when you are thirsty, but if you allow it to condense it can be of greater utility.

The problem for Louis Pasture was one of confusing the disease with its symptoms. This misconception has now been firmly entrenched as scientific law. Disease is actually a general, underlying condition, not the symptoms that are diagnosed. Germs come from within the cells themselves and any germs that come from outside of the body are mere catalysts for the internal imbalance that is resultant. What most call a disease, is really a collection of secondary symptoms, they are the weeds and not the roots. The roots being, of course, over acidity in the blood and microform overgrowth.

Mainstream science has conquered several types of disease, or at least it believes it has, over the last few centuries, but there are many that are still a mystery to the medical establishment everywhere. Many are those who are amazed at new outbreaks of a disease that was thought dispatched long ago. One must understand that no matter what is bothering you, the root problem is always the same, consistent with inner biology and outer nature: acid blood and microform overgrowth.

Reviews by Hubie Goode: Get Some Sleep, Please!

Get Some Sleep, Please!

Due to Big Pharm’s grip on all our lives, prescription tranquilizers have become an epidemic. Tranquilizer addiction has skyrocketed and it usually comes about by following the doctor’s orders. How do you know when you’ve had enough? There will be a need for more and more pills, obviously, and you could have blackouts when things get too heavy and out of control. You may also have increased sensitivity to them when you drink alcohol. Maybe you also get prescriptions from two or more doctors for the same tranquilizer. It can be a never ending downward spiral.

Preventing this sort of thing can go a long way in stopping the hell that is tranquilizer addiction. When you first get a prescription, question your doctor about it. If the medication is for some sort of physical symptom, question why this is appropriate. If the treatment is for insomnia, question your doctor about alternative methods of diet and exercise that you can try first. I do realize that it is not in the doctor’s best interest to give advice on non-prescription health care, for they are trained early on to treat anything with drugs, but remember it’s YOUR well being that should prevail here.

Don’t exceed the prescribed dosage on a tranquilizer if you find yourself wanting more or not getting the effect you need. Doctor’s aren’t monsters who just want to push pills, they are people too, and most will be cautious, despite their medical school training, to not get you involved with addiction.

Sleep problems can indeed be dealt with, even though for a few rare souls it may seem they have not had a good night’s sleep in ages. Be aware that you are not the only one with these sorts of problems. Most people have some sort of sleep problem and there are many studies and an entire industry that has produced data on these problems.

Occasional insomniacs often add to their own troubles by believing that their difficulty is a serious disorder. If you miss a night or two a month, this is usually due to some other stress or anxiety related to events during the day, in fact, sometimes overworking yourself, mentally or physically, can keep you running long into the night instead of causing you to collapse in bed when you get home.

In order for missing sleep to be considered a chronic problem, it needs to be affecting your ability to operate during the day. Just ask yourself, “If you were getting enough sleep, what would you be able to accomplish differently during the day?” It’s important to listen to your body and get up when it doesn’t want to sleep anymore, it may indeed have gotten enough brain and body rest during a nights sleep and if you demand that you stay in bed too long you’ll confuse your own cycles. The sleep cycle may actually start all over again and you’ll not be able to get up in a little while with a fresh head for the day, simply because you insisted on “sleeping in”.

When I was in college, living in the dorm was tough on my studies, for the bed was right there beside my desk. I literally had to go out on campus and find an empty classroom to do all my study work so that my mind and body would not be confused as to the functions it was to perform in both cases. Your bedroom and bed are for the good night’s sleep you need, and they should be for nothing else - well, you know, not everything... but we’re talking about REAL sleep here.

Keep the telephones and noisy things in other rooms, even the TV and computer if you need to. Keep room temperature around 68 degrees and also make sure your mattress isn’t sagging or moving around on you, and also that your clothes are really your sleeping clothes and not something else. Additionally, check that morning light or street light doesn’t confuse your eyes.

If you find yourself lying awake at night TRYING to go to sleep, this can be a frustrating waste of time. You then train yourself to use the bed to TRY to sleep instead of actually doing the sleep. When it comes morning time, if you haven’t slept well, and two hours after getting up your body wants to fall asleep THEN, you have to get tough. You have to treat it like an unruly child and literally tell your body that it blew it’s chance to sleep and now it has to go to work, and wrestle that feeling to the ground. This can be accentuated with a cup of coffee, I suppose, but caffeine can be a sleep interrupter also. Therefore, if you have to do this sort of thing, make sure it is early in the morning and limit coffee to one cup a day. Trust me, the caffeine build up in your system can become a never ending spiral addiction as well. It’s better that you have NO coffee, or NO caffeine at all, as this is one of those blood acid problems, but I do realize that Starbucks didn’t get rich off of a populace that DOESN’T drink coffee.

Stick to a regular bedtime schedule. Go to bed and get up at the same time each day. Some insomniacs believe they will be able to “catch up” on sleep. This is fantasy. Trying to do this disrupts your biological rhythms. There are also those who say that the body needs to be asleep between the hours of 10pm and 2am in order for the brain to produce certain health benefits which can only be done in the REM sleep that takes place after a few hours of conscious brain inactivity. Don’t quote me on this however, it’s just something I have heard on the fly here and there.

Sleeping pills are a real problem, and most users don’t realize what a huge problem they can become. Doctor prescribed sedatives can be quite useful when there is a current emotional or physical upset that is causing the problem. They can become addictive however, for other qualities they posses. For instance, the relaxing euphoria that they can produce before they actually put one to sleep. Your quality of sleep will actually worsen as you use more and more of them due to the diminishing returns so prevalent in this sort of thing.

If you absolutely need to use pills, you must go into this with the knowledge that your body is going to fight you when you have to stop using them. One should only use them for a week or two, and then stop cold turkey. The following nights will be disturbed, it will happen, but it’s necessary for breaking the cycle that has begun. And it MUST be broken when it is still young. There is no need to relate to you the many celebrities who have been addicted to pain killers and tranquilizers who have either had to do rehab or have died with 10 or more prescriptions in their medicine cabinets. This is not just a celebrity problem, it happens all over the world to people you will never hear about.

Exercise early in the day to help get the blood moving and train your mind and body to be up and active at this time. To exercise at night is to train your body to be active when it should be shutting down. You might not think all this training is all that important, but if you have insomnia or some other sleep disorder, can you afford to ignore the process?

Watch the coffee, tea and soft drink intake during the day, and this includes chocolate and sweet stuff, for it can mix caffeine and sugar in nasty ways inside your bloodstream and wake you up in the middle of the night for something caffeineated or sweet. Those too, are addictions.

Hypnotics, drugs made to get you to sleep and help you stay asleep, stay in your blood stream for a goodly amount of time. After a week of taking a sleeping pill, the accumulation in your blood will be around six times what it was on the first night you took a pill. Be aware of any diminishing hand and eye coordination and also watch the drowsy driving, you may not even be immediately aware that you are driving under the influence.

They can also interfere with other drugs you may be taking, and that can cause unforeseen side effects. Not everyone is the same physiologically, and some drugs effect one person different than another person. The trick is to find the correct combination for your body before all the testing and guessing as to how to give you the best care, does damage or gets you killed, this is simply the way drug prescribing is done. Mass produced drugs cannot take into account the individual needs of every person, therefore, it’s actually better to do all that you can to live without them, for drugs can and do cause death all too many times. This is, of course, against the Hippocratic oath, but it is also a result of our flawed reality.

For some examples, just consider that respiratory problems, impaired liver function and simply old age can be a high risk if you take something along the lines of Dalmane or a type of barbiturate. Barbiturates and something called chloral hydrate both pass through a woman’s placenta and can cause birth defects to unborn children.

Help your doctor out, do everything you can to avoid the need for drugs, and get a good night’s sleep for once.
